Texas Hold'em Tips on the Flops

Flop decisions are critical in Hold'em. Here are some Texas Hold'em tips on the flop.

When we hold a low pair we have to make a pivotal decision. The decision will depend on the poker situation developing, but there are basic Hold'em tips. First, know how strong really our hand is as far as the board is concerned. For instance, we have an ace and 8 and the board says 9, 8 and 3. Most likely, nobody has a nine. When somebody checks our hand we bet. We call if someone bets our hand.

If say our hand is a jack and 9 and the board has an ace, a king and a jack. The hand is too weak and its better to fold such weak hand at the flop than play it. The rule basically is to weigh the strength of a hand compared to what other players are likely holding. Another vital question to ask is the matter of when to fold the hand. If we're to fold, we do so at the very beginning.

Another important Hold'em tip is to monitor the total outs we have. These are the cards that produce possible winning hands. Remember not to be too generous about outs counting. For instance we have an ace and queen as a hand and the board says a king, queen, and a ten. Here the ace is definitely not counted as an out. Who knows but that a player may be holding an ace and a king or a jack?

For preflop raising, the flop pace of the game is the best time to bluff. Like for instance, our hand is a queen and jack of both clover while the board has an ace, eight, and 3. With this hand and board we raise preflop, with a heads-up on the flop. The opponent checks. In all probability the opponent has nothing so though our hand isn't much, we bet. This is how we try to steal.

When what we have is a weak hand but which has a potential to be better, and on a potential draw, a small bluff is called for. Like when we have a king and queen both of diamond, and what's on the board are ace and six diamond and a four clover. The hand is a potential flush draw, thus we bet. A good hit is possible, or just play the hand and grab the pot.

So these Hold'em tips should alert us about the situation of the Flop at various stages.
